My friend was recently pregnant and had an abortion. It's been
about a week, and her breasts are still very sore. She is very
uncomfortable and afraid that the soreness will not go away. She had
her abortion at 6 weeeks. Will the soreness decrease? When? What
should she expect?

Hello Dforramit

Please reassure your friend that what she is experiencing is normal
although if she does have any further worries on this subject that she
should really ask for professional medical reassurance.

According to the Atlanta Surgicenter, post-abortion breast soreness is
common and not unexpected. The soreness should subside after a few
days once the body's hormones have readjusted themselves. They also
recommend wearing a tight fitting bra, having a warm massaging shower
or applying ice, if necessary, to ease the pain.

clarification and I will do all I can to help.
