I would like to identify the top privately owned companies in two
related areas in the broader domain of Internet marketing.

The first area is Internet media planning and buying. The best
companies I have heard of in this space are OMD (Omnicom, so obviously
not private), The Richards Group in Dallas, DigitalGrit and Starcom
IP.

The second area is Internet media monitoring, where I have heard of
Intelliseek's BrandPulse, Buzzmetrics, BzzAgent, Factiva and PR
Newswire's eWatch.

I'm interested in companies with national reach, although small local
up-and-comers are interesting, too.

If these are the best, what rank should they be in? Who else should
be in these groups? Which are the top six *private* firms in the two
categories?

I would prefer if someone with deep experience in the interactive
marketing business answered this, because I'm looking for the
insider's perspective.

Thanks!

Jerry
