Aloha, I'd like to come up with a motto for my family, and think it
would be cool to have it in Latin.

I'd like to get suggested Latin translations of the idea or concept
expressed in the English phrase "My
family first, before all others". The "first" in this case not
meaning "best" but more with the connotation of always taking care of
my family before considering anyone else.

Thanks,
Bill Kennedy

PONDUS FAMILAE (KENNEDAE) ANTE ALTER
The significance of the family (of Kennedy) is before others.

I think a *personal* motto would be able to say how you, personally,
care for your family before others, and might be a bit different. I
put such a quote at the bottom of the answer. This quote above, being
a *family* motto, has connotations of caring for one's own family
first and yet cannot avoid the idea that it is, in a way, the best
family.

ANTE OMNIS MEA FAMILIA or ANTE ALTER MEA FAMILIA
My family before everything or My family before others.

These two also can't avoid the boasting issue.

You could say that your family is the first family that you care for,
which personalizes the quotation, so what you see below may not sound
much like other families' mottos.

MEA FAMILIA CURO PRIMUM
I care for my family first.

Also, I guess you already know this, but...

Quodcumque latine dictum sit, altum viditur.
Whatever is said in Latin sounds profound.

Sincerely,
CJS

"Ante omnia Deus" (literal translation - "Before all others God").

Deus is God, so the remainder could be half of what you are looking for...

That would be videtur not viditur (in the last quote, unrelated to question).
