The American that your Mom married can sponsor you. That is the best
way to go. The income required for him to sponsor you is not much
higher than what he had to prove in order to sponsor your Mom. If he
does not have the income or assets required by INS, he can get a
co-sponsor that can be any American that he can find. The co-sponsor
does not have to be a family relation.

Get yourself in status as soon as possible. It should be your top
priority to get your Mom's husband to help you. He loves your mother
enough to marry her, he can easily do this for you.

Good luck, and I hope you stay.

You might also try an online college, like University of Phoenix
online. www.phoenix.edu. I don't see anything about residency
requirements, and online *is* easier if you have to move or something.
