Question ID: 363322
I hold a JD degree and would like to teach undergraduate, law-related
(preferably constitutional law) online, night courses. Where do I
apply for such a position and how much does this type of position pay
per class?

Dear Brachvogel,

I could point you to several sources, where you could apply (or at
least search for vacancies). However, I cannot tell you how much such
places would normally pay you. Payment varies from place to place and
in this relatively new field, there is much difference; It also
depends on your teaching experience, your online teaching experience
(and qualifications), etc.

Sorry, my question was, whether you'd receive a list of places,
without the part about salary expectations.

That is acceptable, but keep in mind the subject matter being taught.
I don't need a list of technical institutes &c.  :)  Thanks!

Dear Brachvogel,

First of all, the best way to find a teaching job in academic
institutions - online and long distance teaching included - is through
organised message boards of academic vacancies (See fortification to
my position at : Teaching DL , at the Distance Learning Forums
<http://www.degreeinfo.com/static/forum_archive/1/14048/thread_14048_page_1.html>).

Chronicle of Higher Education
<http://chronicle.com/jobs/>

HighEdJobs
<http://www.higheredjobs.com/>
In highed jobs, I found (using advanced search, searching for liberal
arts faculties and law, plus the term "distace"), several vacancies,
including this one:
Colorado Technical University Online
Adjunct Faculty - Criminal Justice
<http://www.higheredjobs.com/freetext/details.cfm?JobCode=175095234>

My search (not sure if would be applicable for you, but try to cut and
paste it into your browser):
<http://www.higheredjobs.com/freetext/SearchJobs_Action.cfm?Keyword=distance&JobCat=134&JobCat=77&JobCat=156&JobCat=139&JobCat=204&JobCat=97&JobCat=90&JobCat=93&PosType=1&PosType=2&State=&InstType=1&InstType=2&InstType=3&Submit=Search+Jobs>

University Job Bank
<http://www.ujobbank.com/index.html> - I also found some DL jobs out
these, but not as many as in the former two.

Jobs.ac.uk
<www.jobs.ac.uk> - a good source for UK based jobs

E-Learning Jobs
<http://www.e-learningjobs.com/> - despite the promising name, there
were no listings currently there. But worth checking.

Academic 360
<http://www.academic360.com/> - a collection of links to professional
message boards.

Naturally, some distance learning universities and colleges also
publish wanted list in their own website. However, many other distance
learning institutions belong to larger commercial bodies, and do not
advertise their vacancies - but in the boards abovementioned :

Open University UK

Great addition. Any chance at you tackling qwestion 363395, which is
a re-hash of 361253?

Thanks - I shall look into it.

Thank you very much. I received a great deal for the price: a ton of
leads and that is exactly what I wanted. This should keep me busy for
a while and your leads no doubt will lead me to other leads. Any
interest in handling my other career question (much more pressing and
in depth in nature)?

Brachvogel,

Thank you for the rating and the tip. After I answered the question
