We are looking for a boarding school in western canada. Our son is going into grade 10 in September and currently attends glencairn academy(http://www.glencairnacademy.com) in Ontario. We would like to find a school closer to Vancouver, B.C. The school has to cater to troubled teens, and have low academic entry requirements. To answer this question we require at least 3 schools contact info or web sites, or an explanation as to why you feel none exist. We would also appreciate any info on Canadian or British Columbia agencies we may contact that may assist us in finding a school. |

I think you may be interested in contacting The Brown Schools, website located at: http://www.brownschools.com/boarding_schools.html ... While this is a US organization, perhaps they are aware of sister schools in Canada in a similar vein. They also have a school in Vermont (close to Canada) and all of their schools have a focus on emotional development of the student. Their schools are well known for providing special help for students with emotional problems. Good luck in your search. |

Also please check out, www.schoolsforteens.com http://www.focusas.com/Canada.html This academy is within driving distance of BC http://northwestacademy.com/visit.html. The Western Boarding Schools Association may be able to help you find a school in your area. http://www.wbsa.net/ Hope this helps. |
