I can provide you with details of 2 or 3 studio's, would this be
sufficient for an answer? I also know someone who made the props for
movies such as Star Wars and James Bond who often sells props rescued
from the movies.

Also remember not all studio's sell off their props after a movie
production, many destroy the props they do not want to keep.

This isn't an answer, but I worked for MGM a few years ago, sorting
movie posters they had in boxes. They had furniture and set pieces
from StarGate, The Birdcage, Tank Girl, and alot of movies from that
time. They keep alot of it in a warehouse and store it for later use.
But as the person said above me, they mostly destroy the set after
they finish filming. To get props, you can inquiry with the movie
studios or do some 'pawn shopping' in L.A. I heard that there is alot
of theft in these types of warehouses and that's where alot of the
stuff end up.
