<Golden retriever breeders.
I have identified seven reputable breeders either in or in states
neighbouring California who currently have puppies available. I have
discounted sites offering puppies that appear to be simply concerned
with making money. The breeders selected are those that are actively
involved in the golden retriever world of showing and are involved
with the various golden retriever clubs. These are breeders who aim to
improve the golden retriever breed and aim for quality, producing just
a few litters each year.
The golden retriever clubs have volunteers who keep up to date with
the latest litter news and are able to refer potential owners to
breeders with available puppies. Many of these breeders do not have
websites but can be contacted by email. Links to these breeders are
also given.
As the best breeders limit the number of litters that their dogs have.
Consequently they often have waiting lists for puppies and do not
advertise. The welfare of their dogs comes before financial gain. It
is a usual requirement for prospective owners to fill out a
questionnaire and to participate in an interview so that they can
determine their suitability as dog owners. An example of the type of

Citrine Goldens.
Citrine Goldens, located in Northern California, is owned by Lynn
Tweedt-Rabinowe who is actively involved in showing dogs and has bred
champions. The kennels was founded in the 1980?s and produces one to
three litters per year. The aim of their puppy breeding program is to
produce show prospects pups. Puppies are screened for OFA Hip, OFA
Elbows, CERF Eye, heart, thyroid, allergies, skin conditions and
behaviour/temperament problems.

Montair Golden Retrievers is located in Northern California. Breeders
Bob and Janice Hess have been competing since 1994. They are members

The kennels runs a limited breeding program producing only two or
