Question ID: 363780
I am looking for the names and website addresses of Technology
Entrepreneurship Associations in the United States. An example of
these Associations could be the "Virginia's Center for Innovative
Technology". They could be private or government sponsored, but
again, they have to be related with technloogy and emerging companies.

For the price I am expecting at least 25 such Associations.

Clarification of Question by robaina-ga on 28 Jun 2004 11:44 PDT
I would be willing to pay the list price for only 15 such
Associations. Come on...it's only a buck each!

Hello robaina-ga,

I think researchers have been reluctant to answer your question
because it?s not clear exactly what you?re looking for. The example
you gave is not an association.

http://www.cit.org/about_cit.asp
Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) is a state-chartered
nonprofit corporation that accelerates Virginia's next generation of
technology and technology companies. CIT provides the only statewide
suite of programs and services for technology researchers, technology
entrepreneurs and small technology businesses in all regions of the
Commonwealth.

Does an organization like WITI meet your definition of a
entrepreneurship and technology oriented association?

http://www.witi.com/
Women In Technology International (WITI)
WITI's mission is to empower women worldwide to achieve unimagined
possibilities and transformations through technology, leadership and
economic prosperity.

Are you looking for programs associated with universities such as this
Stanford example?

http://stvp.stanford.edu/
The Stanford Technology Ventures Program is dedicated to accelerating
high-technology entrepreneurship education and creating scholarly
research on technology-based firms. STVP believes that engineers and
scientists need entrepreneurial skills to be successful at all levels
within an organization. The program prepares students for leadership
positions in industry, academics, and society. In addition, STVP
disseminates research and teaching knowledge throughout the world.
STVP is located within the Stanford University School of Engineering
and is hosted by the Department of Management Science and Engineering.

Please clarify what kind of organizations would meet your needs. Thanks.

~ czh ~ thanks for your feedback.

I am looking for "Associations/Organizations" and I think WITI would
serve as a fine example of what I am looking for.

The Stanford program is NOT what I am looking for, I consider those to
be Academic related.

Hello robaina-ga,

Thank you for the clarification. I?ve located a collection of
technology entrepreneurial associations that are either industry or
government oriented. There are many other technology entrepreneur
centers associated with universities that I excluded although the
lines between academia, industry and government in these centers are
sometimes a bit blurred.

I hope that the collection of associations/organizations I?ve found
will meet your needs.

All the best.
