Lawn Genie reccomends that you:
"To prevent backflow, make sure valves are at least 6" above the
highest sprinkler head (or higher if required by local codes). Space
valves at least 5" apart for easy assembly and maintenance."
With drip irrigation, your water will be going down the slope at a
slow pace, so ideally, since little water pressure will be used, you
should place the valve as high as possible.
I called Lawn Genie like I mentioned and they agreed with the idea of
putting the valve as high as possible. They stressed having you call
them with any questionsbecause they're more than happy to help you get
exactly the right valve and system for your needs.
Lawn Genie also offers a planning tool that may be of use to you.
