What is going on down there? I'm curious about what is known about the
microbial communities making a living in my outdoor latrine. Who -
bacteria, fungi, archaea, aerobic and anaerobic? What processes? e.g.
mineralization and immobilization of nitrogen compounds. The answer
can be at a fairly general level, and links to scholarly sources
desirable.
