Question ID: 365144
Who owns SG2 (www.SG2.com), a healthcare intelligence company and web
site founded by Michael Sachs? Sachs sold out to another company a
few years ago. What is the name of that company and what does it do?
What are its ties to the healthcare industry?

The records I have checked still indicate that Michael Sachs is the
owner of SG2, and also list the key officers of the company. Sachs is
still SG2's Chariman, according to the website.

Can you tell me where/how/when you heard that the company had been sold?

What I am really trying to know is the extent to which SG2 is
influenced by the medical device and technology industry. One way to
do this is through ownership, and I believe I saw a press release
about that when SG2 was founded several years ago. Such ownership or
financial stake would not necessarily be disclosed on their website.

Another type of influence could be through collaborative arrangements
with medical device and technology companies, for instance through
joint research studies.

The answer to my question would be worth up to $25 to me.

Another piece of information about Sachs that I forgot to mention in
my prior clarification is that he owned a couple of healthcare
research companies prior to SG2. One of them was called The Sachs
Group, I believe. Another published the Interstudy Edge, but I don't
know if that was a separate company. It reported on managed care
trends.
