Hello ratan!

Wow! I am once again amazed at the sheer volume of educational
information that is offered on the internet. There were so many
children's educational sites to choose from that I had a hard time
knowing when to stop. The best part is that they are almost all free!

I am organizing my answer in two sections. The first section is the
direct answer to your question, as it contains the links to good
sites, geared to children, that can be used for learning and homework
help.

The second section will be of value to you if you want to look into
some of the many hundreds of additional educational sites that are
available for children. I am including a couple of sites that have
large groups or databases of links to educationa sites for children.
Many of them are highly rated or award winning sites, but there were
just to many to persue in this answer.

FOR THE CHILDREN

"Your link to the latest tecKNOWLEDGEy on the web"

One of the highlights of this site is Cool Spots. Some of categories
of topics include:
Creature Features

Culture Shock
The Lab
The Studio

The Library

The Fact Monster

This site looks visually interesting and includes topics such as
Spelling Bee, Today in History and Analogy of the Day. Some of the
resources on the site include an atlas, an almanac, a dictionary and
an encyclopedia.

Fun Brain.com

younger children as well, often determined by selecting easy, medium
or hard settings.

"Brian Giacoppo started this phenomenal site when he was just ten
years old! This site is a tribute to what young people are capable of,
given the opportunity and the inspiration. World Surfari takes you on
different world adventures. Included so far are Jamaica, Italy, Kenya,
Japan, and Greenland. Users will learn about each country's geography,
economy, population, and history. Don't miss "Fun from Afar," a
collection of cultural links to recipes, sports, language lessons, art
projects, and more! If you like what you see in this little site, then
sign up at the bottom of the home page for updates when Brian visits a
new country."

This was an Educational World Best selection in 1998. It has lots of
fun graphics and yet contains serious educational content.

Hi Ratan,

Another site to visit is the following:

http://www.haskell.k12.ok.us/~msstevenson/

It is a teacher's site that I am familiar with. I also know that this
teacher spent many hours researching for good educational sites. The
first page is a little heavy on the graphics, but the rest of the
pages are fine. This site has links organized by subject matter and
then included a page of fun sites.

research strategy: none It is a site that I am personally familiar
with.
