LA JOLLA: If things can be ironed out to everyone's satisfaction,
there will be 13 new timeshare beach cottages on the site where the
historic Red Roost and Red Rest cottages now stand along Coast Blvd.
The buildings, 109 years old, are at the center of a controversy
regarding their preservation as part of the deal. Cove Properties
Inc., a subsidiary of the adjacent La Jolla Cove Hotel and Motel
Apartments, proposes to preserve one of the two cottages, turning it
into a restaurant and making it part of the timeshare project. The
attorney for Cove has suggested the remaining cottage might be
disassembled and put back together again at a new location where it
could be preserved, but the La Jolla Historical Society calls this
plan unacceptable. They maintain that the history of the cottages is
based on where they are as well as what they are, which is one of the
reasons that they were given national historical landmark status.
Talks continue. Stay tuned.

Great job!!! Half of the items I did not see. I am glad I asked.
Could you try to find out about when, how, by who they were built; how
bid they are; how do they look inside; any special people lived in
them
Thanks,
Irene

Hi Irene,

I noticed in your clarification that you are requesting additional
information that was not included in your original question.

All of the information I provided was available on the internet
however, your additional questions:

"try to find out about when, how, by who they were built; how bid they
are; how do they look inside; any special people lived in them."

asks for 6 additional answers. The new questions are substantially
different from the original set of questions!

I suggest that you post a new question asking for this information, so
that more researchers can try to help you with the answers.

Best regards,
tlspiegel
