My wife and I have an Epson Photo 820 and an Epson C80 in our offices.
Both printers have high ink usage and terrible nozzle clogging
problems. I am thinking about replacing both, so we woud get new
nozzles with each cartridge. Fed up with Epson, I am thinking about
HP. We print mostly color photos and some pages of all text. Either of
our Epsons give adequate photo quality for our needs, so we are not in
need of high, photographic fidelity. Can you give me some guidance on
alternative HP inkjet printers in the less-than-$300 range?

B&W laser printers are very cheap now. It might be worth it to you to
have one just for your text printing, as the cost per page is much
lower. I just bought a Samsung b&w laser printer at Sam's Club for
$90 US.

You might try http://www.epinions.com/
or pick out a model number and do a google seach for "HP ###" and
another word like "complaint, quality, broken, junk, repair."

Best wishes.
