I am trying to translate the following message. I believe it to be
some form of Chinese, possibly a dialect used in Taiwan, but at this
point, I'm not sure.
If you can provide a translation, tell me what
language/dialects/romantizaiton(s) it's in, you win!
Message:
dji e che jou may o luh

Though I'm not a google researcher, I am fluent in Mandarin and
Taiwanese, so I'm going to take a shot at it. When I sound out the
quote, it doesn't sound anything like Taiwanese. What your quote
"seems" to say is "together, then there is none";

zhai yi chi = together
jou may yo le = then there is nothing/none

If I had the context of it, I can probably figure it out for you.

Cheers

Well, I will clarify as best as I can. I received a message from a
friend of mine (we'll call him Sam) that *he* had received a message
from a former friend of *his* (we'll call her Angela). From what I
can make out, they were friends, he got mad at her, he hit her, he
apologized,

"Angela, I apologize for hitting you. Sam

P.S.
Trying to avoid being long winded."

And she wrote back

"dji e che jou may o luh"

Also, here is an excerpt from one of his e-mails to me describing the situation:
"another subject, me and angela are defiantly not talking again, and i
don't think going to even try to fix it this time. it was a bad
situation. pissed me off, felt like she was just using me, she says,
"because basically you had no life before me" i give her a look that
is like, gee how conceited and self-righteous are you, which she
responds with a "i'm right" look, and i back handed her, i did
apologize, but really pissed off, and don't want to talk to her. and
a side note, i don't hit woman and i felt bad about hitting her, even
though i did tell her i was going to hit her one day. anyways, i'll
try to keep in better touch..."

Hope that helps.

AHA! with your clarification, I can tell you that she said "One more
time and it's over" (it's not the literal translation, but thats what
it means).

Literally, she said, "repeat one time, then there will be nothing/none."

with the context, I can be sure of the words. Since there are MANY
homonyms in Chinese, it's always hard to figure out by phonetics alone
what someone may have said.

hope this helps your friend.
Cheers,
W.S.

Are you sure that "friend" isn't you?

LOL. Yep, I'm sure. Though I do know where you're coming from. I'm
sure you have some statistic (90% of all "friends" are actually the
person themselves) or whatever, but I have a statistic for you: 60%
of all statistics are made up on-the-fly.

Whatever that means.

Anyway, no, it's not me, but nice try!
While you're at it, maybe the person's name "let's call him <name>" is
actually the *real* name? Or if you want to dig deeper, maybe this
whole question is an experiment by aliens in Chaos Theory to see how
the world would've changed had you read this message. Yeah. That's
it.

P.S. thanks W.S. for figuring it out! You rock!

Here's one "statistic that was not made on the fly"
81.2% of respondents are very defensive once cornered.

No offense, but your response sort of depicts quite unobtrusively in
fact that you are the 'friend'..
