I live in Massachusetts. I would like to start a small part time business of moving furniture for people by renting trucks and billing people for my time and truck and sometimes get some part time help. I don't know much about small businesses. Could I get a moving Liscence and Insurance? Where would I get them? and how much would they cost me? I would like to use the information or links to decide if it's worth doing this. |

Brian, As a former mover, let me make a suggestion. Go to work for a moving company, a great one in your area would be: Paul Arpin Moving and Storage. They are highly rated, run a tight ship, and you'll earn as you learn. Do that for 1 year, and learn everything you can from operations, to claims, to billing. Moving is a very complex business *My brother in law owns an agency. Labor is generally a problem, and you'll need more than a pickup. Youll want some sort of straight truck, or used Uhaul. Again, I suggest you work in the industy at least one year so you will obtain expertise. Good Luck Clint |
