info2-ga,

This link isn't an article, it's a Texas Department of Health citation
for Gilbane for the dates April 9, 10, 11, and 25, 1996.

info2,

I could not improve upon what morris-ga found above: there is just not
very much available online.

I think your best source of local El Paso news would be the major
newspaper, the El Paso Times. However, note what they say about back
issues:

El Paso Times
Frequently Asked Questions
http://www.elpasotimes.com/Service/faq.shtml

"Q.What resources are available for back issues of The El Paso Times
and my research?

The El Paso Times keeps back issues for viewing for three months. They
are available for purchase at (915) 546-6322. The El Paso Times
library is not available to the public for their research needs,
however, the El Paso Public Library maintains a reference of the paper
and has a collection of the El Paso Times on microfilm dating back to
1881. You can call the El Paso Public Library at (915) 543-5433."

Here is complete contact information for the library:

El Paso Public Library

501 North Oregon Street
El Paso, TX 79901
Tel: 915-543-5401
Web: http://www.ci.el-paso.tx.us/city_resources/eppl/main.html

Bill Lockhart,
Head of Reference Services
Tel: 915-543-5433

The El Paso Library also has an online "Ask A Librarian" service, but
I'm not sure that is working properly. My browser (Internet Explorer
5) could not display any text entry boxes on this page, but perhaps it
will work for you:

El Paso Public Library

Thanks,
huntsman

Visit the elpasotimes.com website (local newspaper) and ask them by
e-mail or phone call if they have access to an online database
archives that goes back that far. Checking with the library might be
your best bet since they might keep a vertical file index with that
companies articles in it. Please mention the reason you want
information on this company--it might be possible for me to find other
online sources that might have the information you want.

The Gale Group's General Reference Center Gold database of periodicals
and newspapers returned 4 newspaper articles and 55 periodical
articles on the Gilbane Building Company. Two more citations were
returned for the El Paso International Airport.
If you think that the list of these articles will suffice to answer
your question, I will be pleased to post them.
