I need to know the list of camcorders that Apple's iDVD software and
the Super Drive are compatible with. Also, I need a related list of
DVD players that can view the iDVD burned discs with. Both are
available somewhere on Apple's site but I can't find it anymore. I
want to confirm that if I buy an Apple iMac, it will identify my Sony
DCR-PC105 camcorder and I will be able to view the discs burned on my
Sony DVP-NC 600 DVD player.

Apple has removed the links that used to lead to the compatibility
lists of camcorders and DVD players.

Below I have posted links to archived copies of the lists as they
appeared on Apple's site in June of 2003. I have not found any more
recent lists. It appears that Apple does not want to keep these lists
updated.

I have examined both the archived lists. Your Sony DVP-NC600 DVD
player is listed as being compatible. The Sony DCR-PC105 camcorder is
not listed. However, the Sony DCR-PC100 and Sony DCR-PC110 are both
listed as compatible.

I believe you are safe with the Sony DCR-PC105, in view of this:

"Sony DCR-PC105
 Very Mac Friendly...
Pros: Besides being very compact and crammed with features, this
camera is VERY Mac friendly, its simply plug and play no software
required. Works great with Imovie and Idvd. If you have a mac you'll
love this camera!"

In addition, the Apple Web store used to sell the Sony DCR-PC105
camcorder. I doubt that Apple would have offered it if it had any
compatibility problems.

Here are the archived compatibility lists (may take awhile to load):

Archived files may not be available forever; if you'd like to keep
these lists for future reference, you may want to cooy them onto your
hard drive.

I hope this information will be useful. If clarification is needed,
please feel free to ask; I'll be glad to offer further assistance
before you rate my answer.

Thanks for the answer. Two things that really helped me ...

1. The Cnet review that explictly mentioned iDVD and my camcorder model.
2. The Google cache of Apple selling PC-105. As you said, they
wouldn't have ever sold it if it wasn't compatible.
