Port Authority - Governance
?The Governor of each state appoints six members to the Board of
Commissioners, subject to state senate approval. Board Members serve
as public officials without pay for overlapping six-year terms. The
Governors retain the right to veto the actions of Commissioners from
his or her own state. Board meetings are public.?

out the agency's policies and manage the day-to-day operations.?

The Office of Inspector General assists in maintaining the integrity
of the Port Authority.

?The Office of Inspector General was established as an independent
office in August 1992. The Office assists in maintaining the integrity
of the Port Authority through investigative programs that include
investigating allegations of criminal misconduct and serious
administrative misconduct by employees, and attempts by non-Port
Authority employees to corrupt or unlawfully interfere with Port
Authority operations. Individuals may express concerns and complaints
through one of the following mechanisms.?
