I'm trying to find out the name of a corny sci-fi film I saw on
late-night TV in the early to mid 80's. It looked like it was made in
late 70's or early 80's. The plot is basically that an alien comes to
earth and hunts people. To hunt them it throws an organic-looking
frisbee-like thing that sticks to them and has small tentacles if I
remember right.
   I remember a scene involving a boy scout troop. The troop leader is
kind of an overweight jerk that gets separated from the boy scouts and
becomes a victim of the alien near a stream.
   As I recall, the alien stores its victims in some shack that is
discovered towards the end of the film by the people trying to destroy it.
   I just remember this film as being a low-budget, corny, sci-fi flick
that would fun to see again. I would like to know the title and if it's
available on home video. I already tried looking on www.imdb.com, but
didn't see anything that struck a cord as far as what I remember. Can
anyone help?

I should note that the eBay auction mentioned above expires in less
than a day.  VHS copies of the film seem to be rather rare.

"name this cheesy movie" Researchers here).

Your movie is definitely 'Without Warning', a most enjoyable B-movie
that deserves a cult following.

An interesting bit of trivia: the actor who played the tall alien who
came to earth to hunt was Kevin Peter Hall, who also played a tall
alien who came to earth to hunt in the films "Predator" and "Predator
2." Sadly, Mr. Hall died in 1991 of AIDS, acquired from a blood
transfusion.

Now that I know that name of this movie, I'm learning a lot more about
it. I can't imagine why you can't get it anywhere on DVD or video.
Hopefully I can track down a good copy somewhere, not just an imported
bootleg.
