There is a legal case that resulted in any company having to respond
to a customer within a certain time frame (I think 48 hours it might
be more or less)on any written letter coming into the company by their
customers the response must be prompt. any information on the case
cranston maybe Kranston vs Gonzales I might be spelling it way wrong.

There's a federal law with a name very similar to the case title that
you've mentioned. The law has to do with home ownership.

Does your question have something to do with housing or a mortgage
company's duties with regards to loan applications, etc?

yes it could very well be as I first heard this where I use to work
which was a mortgage company. When ever we received any corespondence
(sorry for the bad spelling) from a customer we had a very short time
frame in which to respond to them in writing or any response (not sure
about that exactly). Thanks
