I am searching for a copy of a piece (don't know if it's a book or within a book) called, "How A Young Man Ought to Hear Poems." I found this title linked to the following quote: "Bad men live that they may eat and drink whereas good men eat and drink that they may live." --Socrates, from Plutarch, How a Young Man Ought to Hear Poems Thinking it was a book, I looked on Amazon and found the following notation from a book called, Eating Right in the Renaissance: "that the theory itself psycho- somatically alerted people to scrutinize the mouth of the stomach, in 15. As cited by Plutarch, Moralia, "How a Young Man Ought to Hear Poems," 4. 16. Manfredi, p. 66r. 17. Nonmus, 134 and 136. Olives are not nourishing, but used "ad orexim excitan- dam." ..." Can you find this book/written piece for me? Thanks very much, Stephanie Anderson |
