The main character of the cartoon "Home Movies" once ran around with a
towel on his head saying "I'm a pretty lady".  Then someone did the
same thing in a Blockbuster commercial.  Is this a reference to
something?  And if so, what?

Just as a side note - my two year old cousin used to do that as a
child, pretending that the towel was her long hair...
