Hello Annbw,

The commentor was close about the middle, but there is actually is a
closer town to the middle than Charlotte, NC.

Based off of MapQuest driving directions, your entire trip is 541.81 miles.
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&mapdata=UAm0U3b9NY3Mpy6Rmnk8wiD6dBFN%252bYxv5na6JcbIdOunPenGo0j8LQRjm9M5Z8h%252blSAEmOSFE%252f8myV987wIREoRvYVOQzfinyfZsUiky0MuSkukUOLTLKBHdZRfaUWKqMdNzjbU55Co2sf%252fYxuZn8EElrl6On599g218yMFZmKT6sHs1kg61b1Hjq4DDPRCRw5sWFCcpyk9BoBLtjcQBxvitiFA6FEwgNlmkGZmZF8FTeiBe0uztAg%253d%253d&mqmap.x=221&mqmap.y=209&mo=ma&un=m&2tabval=address&cl=EN&1n=Chow
an&ct=NA&1v=CITY&2n=Fulton&1tabval=address&2v=CITY&did=1088459638&1y=US&1a=&1c=Edenton&1s=NC&1z=&1ah=&2y=US&2a=&2c=Atlanta&2s=GA&2z=&2ah=&idx=0&id=40e098f4-001d5-000ce-400c2526&aid=40e098f4-001d6-000ce-400c2526

So, doing the math.... (541.81 divided by 2 =270.905) or, for the sake
of mileage, 270.91 miles would be the halfway point.

The closest town along your route would be Kannapolis, NC. Coming in
at 278.37 miles through your trip.

Charlotte is definatly a larger place to stop, depending on your
plans, but it comes in at 302.36 miles, putting you about 32 miles
past the half way point.

clarification before rating it, and I'll be happy to look into this
further.

according to Mapquest, Charlotte, NC is the biggest city that is
approximately midway between the two points, taking Mapquest's
suggested route. This may not be an exact enough answer for you, so if
it's not, go ahead and keep the question open. If it answers your
