Let's see how this works on google answers.

Basically, Trying to help my wife design a site for her wedding planning
business. I also want to learn something in the process, which is why
I am not farming the entire thing out (and it's gonna be a pretty
small site anyways).

I figure when I run into problems I will post them here, and price it
based on how many hours I've spent messing around and NOT coming up
with my own solution.

Here is my start:

http://www.geocities.com/busselle/bto/new/main.html

This page will be the basic outline for most of the other pages, so I
want to get it right. Here are my problems:

1) Graphics don't look crisp - neither the boxes with text, or the
logo. I am using photoshop and exporting to web, but it's not
working.

2) See the area under the Contact box - the blank area - I would like
that to be the darker shade of green.

3) On certain browsers, there is a faint lighter-green line on the top
darker area, that runs vertically and is a pixel or so thick. I can't
get rid of it.

Options for answering, in order of preference.

1) Take it down, reprogram it entirely, redo the graphics, and post it
somewhere. That would be worth about a $10 or $20 tip, figuring it
would only take you 30-60 mins, if that. Let me know if that is fair.

2) Cut and paste new code here & describe the best way to make these
graphics...which might mean I have to follow up if I have a problem
implementing. Still would be worth a tip, of course.

3) Direct me to a website that will walk me through these issues,
possibly has a good tutorial on web graphics specific to photoshop.
This would be a good answer, but I'm shooting for #2 or #1 above, at
least for now. Please hold off on answers of this nature.

If this works out, I will invariably have more problems and would
direct them to the person who answers this question (assuming it's a
good answer, of course).

[By the way, the font used for the graphics is Bernard Modern Roman
(the 'optional' in the logo is Whimsy]

Greetings, bootsybus!

I've taken a look at your site as it's been developed thus far and can
offer you some suggestions for improvement and appearance, as well as
-- and this is the *most* important part -- making the site easily
spiderable by and friendly to the Googlebot. However, actual
re-programming of the page would be outside of the current Question's
parameters with regard to the fee at which it is currently listed.

If you would be interested in these suggestions as an Answer, please
post a Clarification here stating that, and let me know what web
design software you are using.

Regards,

Just as a hint, I believe that the problems you are having with the
graphics (or at least the title graphic) are related to you exporting
them with transparent backgrounds.
Probably the best thing for you to do in this case would be to set the
background of the image in photoshop to be the same as the background
for the web page, and disable transparency when you export.
That should fix the problems with the edges of the text.

You haven't selected an answer, and the link doesn't work. Do you
still want help with this?

May I also suggest checking out www.classythemes.com? They have
different web templates for reasonable prices. You can buy one, and
then customize it. If you mess it up, you just bring over the original
page again. I've created many websites using their templates,
including www.theofficeexperts.com and www.cdelly.com (which is a
client site that will soon be moved to their domain). Tables are a
pain, but I use FrontPage, which makes them very easy to manipulate.
