What is the name of the language based on English and spoken most
recently by homosexual men in Britain, but based on Romany and Cockney
Rhyming Slang? It is something like Pullari, but I might be spelling

Hi randysparks

You are probably thinking of Polari (also spelled Palare) as
popularised by the BBC radio sketches featuring Julian and Sandy in
the 1960s and 1970s. There is an unofficial Polari dictionary at:
http://www.chris-d.net/polari/
and a linguistic analysis of the language at:
http://www.worldwidewords.org/articles/polari.htm

Further information can be found with a web search (easier now you
know the name you're looking for!)

How bona to vada your answer! Thanks for clearing that up. It was
driving me mad and I'd tried every single spelling of Polari in
Google, apart from that one.
