I am looking for websites that show photographs of Rajasthani women (women from the state of Rajasthan, India) for a very special photo-project. I am searching for a particular woman, she is being photographed very often because of her stunning green eyes. To see her, have a look at http://www.papu.nl It is important that I have results from different countries! I am prepared to pay more if the results are promising. Thanks! Mirjam / Megam |

Hi Megam, Yes, she has mesmerising eyes. I could look at her for hours. I first saw her image in a National Geographic magazine, years ago. By chance, there was a follow up story, showing the same lady years later. A journalist located her. Check out National Geographic, Australian Geographic and Reader's Digest. I am sure she appeared in all three. Good luck, Phil |

Thanks for both of the above reactions! I know the site jpsviewfinder... I mention that one on our site already. And NO, she is not Steve MacCurry's Afghan woman! I would feel very honoured if this woman would be on the cover of National Geographic! Many people have that reaction, but Steve McCurry's woman is from Afghanistan and 'mine' is from India (Rajasthan). She does have green eyes, but that's the only thing they have in common, I guess. Hi Megam, My apologies for my ignorance and faded memory. I even looked at your "papu" site and the photo. I am sorry that I confused both photos. Thank you for directing me to McCurry's site however. I think I might just stare at those eyes again for a few hours more. The cliche that a picture/painting is worth a thousand words is true. The earthy beauty of the Afghan lady shows every concieviable emotion within her single image. All the best with your search, Kind regards, Phil |

Take a look at : http://www.nativeplanet.org/ngo/features/india/bopaphotos.htm and http://www.networkaspen.com/gallery/main.tpl?SKU=A04670&action=enlarge As she belongs to a Gypsy community, it is hard to track her whereabouts. However, if you can send a photographer to Pushkar Fair in November you will be able to get not one but several women with blue eyes. indiapreneur |

Dear Indiapreneur, No, I know exacly where this woman is, I stay with her quite often. But she told me she has been photographed by many photographers and I am looking for photographers who took her picture. I found a few already (see http://www.papu.nl), but there must be many more out there! From Japan, and Italy, for instance, she remembers. She is indeed a Bhopa (Bopa) woman. Thanks, Megam |
