Approximatey 8 years ago I saw a television show segment and I am
looking to get a copy of that piece. I cannot remember which show the
segment was on but it was a Dateline, 20/20 type (soft-news) show. The
segment evaluated the life of an average American family (2 parents
and 2 young children). The shows' producers followed the family
members around with cameras for a 24 hour period. Dad and Mom both
commuted to work, spent time at their jobs, kids watched tv and went
to daycare, family had dinner etc.. At the end of the day the
producers quantified the amount of time each family member was
involved in particular tasks. For example, Dad commuted 1.5 hours,
watched tv 2 hrs, talked to kids 12 minutes, talked to Mom 2.5
minutes. Then, two people evaluated the family's day and provided
feedback on how it could be modified to increase efficiency,
fulfillment and the like. One of the evaluators was Steven Covey
(author of 7-Habits of Highly Effective People) and the other
evaluator was an editor of a woman's magazine (ex. Good Housekeeping
or Homemaker). I would like a copy of this segment and would like to
know the name of the segment, name of the show it aired on, airing
date and proceedure to obtain a copy. Thanks! Hopefully, JM |
