Where can I find PDFs of cross section drawings of 727 or 737 airplanes?

Hello Colin,

Since you?re designing for look and feel, would it help to get a
selection of interior shots of these planes? I?ve been able to find
quite a few that give you fairly good detail of the interior design
and proportions. I look forward to your clarification.

czh,

It is the drawing I am after. I am airplanes every month (mostly 737s)
and I can take pictures of anything that interests me.

Thanks,

Hello Colin,

I was able to find the cross section diagrams you are looking for and
along the way I came across some interior photographs of these planes
that I thought you might find interesting for your design project. I?d
love to see your final design for your client?s guest room.

Best wishes for your creative project.

Hi Colin,

What detail are you after? Electrics, fuselage or simply top view
sectional cabin layout configurations?

I presume you have looked for a Boeing site, so I won't duplicate your
search there. Security is of course tighter than ever nowadays. Let us
know your application of the drawings and I will be happy to check
with my engineering colleagues if this what you are after.

If you are any where near Seattle, your answer won't be far away.

Phil,

I am looking for a cross section. So as if someone took a large saw
and chopped the plane in half in the short direction. The exterior of
the plane is probably some sort of elipse. There is a flat floor
inserted for the passenger compartment. There is another for cargo.
There's probably some space above the passenger cabin.

Something like that.

(Oddly, I have a client who wants his guest room to have that feel:
being on an airplane. So I need to check the actual cross section
against the room I am designing to see how close I am getting.)

It doesn't need technical portions. I don't care about the mechanical
systems, electronics and not even, really, about the materials.

Thanks,
--Colin

Hi again Colin,

I see that your question has been answered. I can't make the time to
go through the comprehensive and excellent answer of websites given to
you by CZH, (aren't these guys fantastic !!) but I'm happy to continue
in your search if you want more. Your project sounds like fun.

When you quoted 727 and 737 aircraft, they are Boeings. Now it seems
not to matter whether it's Boeing, Airbus or even BAE (God forbid the
BAE example of British engineering .. pieces of reliable junk I tell
ya).

When you said cross-section .. that usually indicates a longitudinal
cross section. Now you have made it easy with a lateral cross-section.

Make sure the guest room is lots of fun for the guest. A pleated blue
curtain to separate the kitchen from the living; push button lights
and audio - but no flight attendant appears (realistic), slide up
window covers, arm-rest head phones, suspended TV, and hey .. how
'bout a seat belt on the arm-chair with an oxygen mask under?? Make
sure that no item of baggage fits in the robes either! :)

Let us know how you progress.

Regards, Phil
