I can surf the web, Google word searches, check out the sites they list,
click on hyperlinks and they open but I cannot get
www.TruthOrFiction.com to open for me. The little time line marker on
the bottom of my page goes real slow and then open the message that
the site could not be opened. I have bugged my daughter-in-law who got
me started on TruthOrFiction and she says it works great for her.
What's up and what can I do?

I have even done a search on Google so that I had different things to
click on and nope, no go. ?????

Howdy pendleton-ga,

The first thing to try is to clear your browser cache.  Inside Internet
Explorer, click on the "Tools" menu on the top, then click on "Internet
Options."  On the menu that appears, click "Delete Files."  It might take
a few minutes for that to finish, so don't panic.  You might want to go
ahead and click on the "Delete Cookies" button as well, after the above
is all finished.  Once both are done, click on "OK" at the bottom.

Then try going to http://www.truthorfiction.com/ and see if it works for
you, and report your results back here please.  Thanks!

bar by hand (the entire address, beginning with http), preferably

I believe it's best to follow Hummer-ga's suggestion. An insidious
spyware or malware may have self-installed into your computer and is
blocking you from accessing certain web sites, including
www.truthorfiction.com . You will need to clean your computer of it
before you can access those sites.

I posted as a comment, posted as the answer as you suggested.  :)

Try this:

Tools --> Options --> Advanced --> Uncheck "Enable 3rd Party Browser Extensions".


You might also try putting that domain on your list of Trusted Sites. 
Tools --> Options --> Security --> "Trusted Sites" --> "Sites" button.

Fill in the information. 

Or, it could be the machine is set to refuse Javascript. Try Options -
Security - Custom Level and enable all scripts.

One new clue, next to the above URL there
appears to the left a little square color black
on the top, blue on the bottom, with red
letters across it that look like (kind of hard
to make out "_T_ET"  Where I put the _ I could not make them out.

Then at a diagonal in a green closed eliptic, link an electron running.

is called a favicon.  Some websites like to have one (designed to
reflect something about their site) so when viewing a list of your
favorites or bookmarks it shows up next to the name of the site or
url, and you can link to the site easily.

Favicons are not used in all sites.

1. The site might be timing out for you.  (An MTU setting thing.)

2. The site might have ads, banners, popups, etc., which you have
filtered out for your browser?  Can you turn off any popup blockers
you have enabled?

Hello hummer-ga:  I did the spyware, adware thing, cleaned up everything and
still no TruthOrFiction.com  opening for me.

Every other last web site opens. I am surfing all kinds
of stuff, images, info for some conferences I am making.
They all work, truthorfiction.com

Intriguing... most other commentators have already identified the
obvious... but I found this to help you recap:

Why do some pages in internet explorer not open when some do ? I
looked at security level and it is ok !
General Disclaimer - Happy Online would like to remind all visitors
that they are responsible for their own computer settings - some

likely reason for pages not opening or loading correctly.

with your Security Settings to see if this make a difference to

Other factors that may effect whether pages load or not are as follows:-

- Your Anti-Virus software may block content (Note that some
Anti-Virus software blocks adverts aswell as Viruses.)

- You are restricted from visiting the Website by your Server/ISP.

- Your IP Address or your range of IP Addresses has been blocked by
the website owner/adminstrator(s).

- Access to the Website has been restricted by Content Advisor in
Internet Explorer.

blocked for whatever reason, possibly by mistake.  If all else fails,

Dear tlspiegel-ga .  I think your idea did it!!! I have opened 
truthorfiction.com 2 times in a row from different directions, so to speak.

I think the clue was entering their URL as a trusted site. That did it.

I have the same problem and have all tried all of the ideas, but still
cannot access. Odd, at work where we have all kinds of filters, I can
get to it with ease.
