I need a reference explaining security aspects of Unix IPC (shared
memory) and Unix unnamed pipes. The idea is to use either mechanism
to communicate from a child process to a parent process. Can it be
guaranteed that no other process on the same system can access that
communication channel?

I'm pretty sure it is so (if permissions are set properly), it's just
that I need a good, credible reference that explains why.
