Question ID: 36811
We have produced a unique educational and entertaining video: Ez Math
Trix. In July/August 2002 issue of Video Librarian (Very Credible and
Independant review magazine) gave a recomemmoned rating for public
libraries and schools. Here are my two short questions:

1. One company by name Promedia from south africa: Contacted me
stating that they will act as distributors for videos. (They said that
they do it by fax and email system to schools in african continant).
They do not have site on internet. The whole sale price I offered
them, they agreed. Can you do the reseach and tell me the buying
capacity of South African schools or African continent schools
compared to USA Schools. (The retail price of the video is $49.95)

2.How can I get info about this company whether they are reliable
company who do not copy illegally and distribut with out my notice???
If you need the company details: I can submit to you.

Thanks in advance.

I am in US based. My company name is Ez Math Trix. The details of my
company are available at www.EzMathTrix.com. Promedia company details
are as follows: Promedia, 2 DTeldol, Rosmead Avenue. Kenilworth, South
Africa 7702. Tel: +27 21 683 9514 Fax: +27 21 683 9514 Mobile: 082 496
1657. His email addresses he used until now are: promax @mweb.co.za or
export247 @mweb.co.za

Additional points to be noted:

1.He first has seen about my product in Press release given a month
ago on PR WEB. Then he contacted me.

2.He mentioned that he is a distributor and he will campaign by fax or
email to all the schools and libraries in South Africa and
Subcontinent (mass faxing in that continent is not scam - I am
positive). Once the orders and money come to him, he will pay my whole
sale price and I have to send the copies to him so that he will them.

3.He asked for one DVD to show to teachers before doing any thing.
Since I have a back order, I told him that I will send Demonstration
VHS (specially made to show to teachers and parents) for his purpose,
for which he said: "ok" He wanted future shipments of VHS and DVD in
PAL system for which I have to special order if I get an order from
him.

4.He used his company names by promedia and new media on different
emails and used two email addresses as mentioned above.

NOTE:

If you do good research which is helpful to me: I will increase the
bid to $10. Thanks in advance. ( I don't whether if is good to me to
give all these details to you on net. Since there is not email I can
send you, there is no choice for me except to inform you here. )

I really appreicate your research in this matter and also advise me if
every thing is ok! How do I do transactions of money? If he asks in
future, regarding duplication rights - Should I give to him!!! or
Should I maintain this kind of relationship only!!!

1. Still researching

2. You said they aren't on the net, but I
turn up OOODLES of pages referencing ProMedia
Africa, and distribution. Is there a way
to narrow down the particular company?
Details would be great.

*A note about business dealings. Are you
in Africa? If not, I'd consider getting
a US company to do the distribution, or
at least the handling of contracting an
African company. When you leave the
shores of the US, it's hard to protect
your interests. Email has no boundaries
so any US company could do that for you.
In fact, a US company that has a good
international phone plan, should be able
to fax for you also.
