I doubt that this question can be adequately answered in the five or
ten minutes of a Researcher's time that the price of $2 would justify.
For a comprehensive answer, I suggest that you increase your price
considerably.

Dear Damian,
They say it cannot be adequately answered in the time available, but
as a former teacher I understand your plight. Unfortunately not D&T,
so I spent 5 minutes of my time looking for you and found a few things
of interest:

At this site is a good summary of the design process to get kids
started - this is from a games company who got tired of answers
studnets questions so they have posted some tips:
http://www.fbgamesco.uk/words/design/gcse.htm

It might be worth posting your question on this site:
http://www.bgdf.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=1&topicdays=0&start=250
It is a games forum and has a lot of stuff including people testing
ideas - maybe your students could look through some of the postings on
there and rate the games.

And finally all your answers are contaned in this book
http://www.mathshell.com/scp/game52.htm
which has photocopiable materials in line with NC requirements.

I know it is not the definitive "list" you where looking for -but a
stranger giving up 5 minutes (OK 10 now I have typed this) of her time
to give you some pointers can't be bad.

Good luck!

Mrs Popcorn
