I am trying to establish how far Raguva , Lithuania Latitude: 55º34'
Longitude: 24º36'[ or 25 36?]was from Kovno/ Kowno[Lithuania] in 1908 .

According to the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency database
of geographic locations, the coordinates of Raguva are 55° 34' 00" N,
24° 36' 00" E; and the coordinates of Kovno (now: Kaunas) are 54° 54'
00" N, 23° 54' 00" E.

With the WCRL Surface Distance Calculator, I was able to determine the
distance between the two cities using those coordinates:
The linear distance between Raguva and Kovno is 86.34 kilometers (53.65 miles). 

Of course, since roads or railway lines usually are not straightaway,
the actual distance a traveller had to cover would have been a bit
longer.
