I've inherited 3 small pieces of pottery/ceramics done by the late
Margit Kovacs (1902-1977) of Hungary. Can you find information on what
her works sell for at the present time? She has a museum in Hungary,
but I can't seem to get any details about the 'collectibility' of her
work, nor have I uncovered info of any U.S. Galleries who have
brokered her art.

Hello carolinerobinson-ga,

I visited the Margit Kovacs Museum in Szentendre a few years ago and I
have book about her works that was published in Hungary. It has an
extensive listing of her works. It might be easier to get more
information about how to price your pieces if we knew what they looked
like. Could you post some pictures to help us along? I look forward to
your clarification.

Thank you, czh, I have tried to find a book translated into English,
so that I could do my own research...however, it seems that this book
was only published in the Hungarian language.(by Ilona P.
Brestyanszky) I will send .jpegs of the items, however, I need to
know how to upload them to you. Please advise, as I am not really all
that computer 'savvy', but I can read and understand directions. Thank
you very much!!!

Thank you for your comment pinkfreud, I saw that myself. It is my
understanding that... 'artists for hire'...students trained in her
modern (at the time) concepts... continue to work in tandum with the
Margit Kovacs Museum in Szentendre, Hungary, reproducing copies of her
original works/designs. I believe my pieces are originals and made by
her very own hands. Thanks for your interest and effort in helping me
in my quest.

I am also interested in purchasing one of her pieces. If you are still
interested in selling your pieces, I would be interested in seeing
some photographs. Please let me know how I can get additional
information, or if you know of other avenues through which to find
other pieces.

Thank you!
