A couple of friends of mine in their 60's will be travelling to Paris (France) on the 31st of August and spending 4 nights there. They wish to stay in the Latin Quarter (or very close to it) and require accommodation in this area. They would, if possible, like to restrict their budget to less than 100 Euro's per night. I would like to provide them with a list of approximately 10 hotels that meet this criteria and have empty rooms over this period. Recommendations would be great, but I would be happy for a list of URL's, prices and the number of "stars" each place has. |

Hello and thank you for your question. Some of the following are based on personal experience; others I found (by searching on "cheap sleeps paris" which is a book that you can buy) at http://www.medill.northwestern.edu/journalism/global/hotel.pdf and from there, a New York Times list (registration required) at http://travel2.nytimes.com/top/features/travel/destinations/europe/france/paris/hotel_listings.html?neighborhood=Latin%20Quarter%20%284%29&pricedesc=EUR%2080%20to%20EUR%20120 Availability should not be a problem since they arrive September 1 - - July and August are usually the busy period for hotels that mainly attract students and teachers. Here are Latin Quarter choices (5th and 6th district), two stars and under 100 euros. The 5th is the official Latin Quarter, but the 6th, also along the Left Bank, is generally a bit nicer. Thanks for the prompt reply Richard-ga, it would have taken me half a day to find a quarter of the information and web links you came up with! Some of the sites you've listed will be useful for my research, in the event that none of the listed accommodation is vacant. Cheers. |
