I have an AMD 64 3400+, so it has a socket 754 . I need a clear guide
with pictures on how to remove the heat sink and fan without damaging
the processor. I looked at a guide withpictures from AMD, but it was
very confusing and went very in-depth onsimple things and did not go
very in-depth in the hard stuff. I needyou to give me step by step
directions, warn me of pitfalls, etc. Ifyou can provide pictures that
would be great but I need the directionsand the picture not to be
general but to be dealing with my processor and howthings will look to
me. Baby steps are key. For reference I have a ?so cool? by euphonee
electronics heatsink/fan and a Gigabite g8vt800m motherboard. The
heat sink also has a lever that appears to be pressed down and also
has the words ?so cool? on it. You can view some socket 754 heat
sinks here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1187

I need a reply by MONDAY.

Thanks,
Andy

don't panic there is nothing simpler then removing a heatsink ,
unlatch the clasp and it will pop off (in some cases some force may be
required) , there is only one side (usually) where you can unhook it

underneath you will find a usually black rectangle with whitish
silverish goo on it , that is your processor with some conductive
paste on it , if you are going to put the heatsink back , renew the
paste

(and on a small note if you are willing to spend 25 bucks to get
somebody to show you how to do it and are not all that secure in
dealing with it , take the 25 bucks to a local computershop and have
them do it for you)
