Hello Polly57
Can you please clarify your question for me? Do you need to rent a
car to do the journey and require the cheapest rental options or do
you need the shortest route for your journey?

I have a dog and a cat in a crate and a sherpa bag, respectively, and
flew up to MA on united airlines. There is an embargo on pets flying
until after Sept. 15 at all the airlines. When I booked my ticket
with priceline I called the airlines first to find out the policy for
animals. I told the csr that I was coming back on 9/8, and she never
said that there would be an embargo for the dog on my return. I never
would have booked the ticket.
I am looking to drive a car for an elderly person who may be flying to
Florida, and I will pay the gasoline and tolls, or a car auction house
such as Adessa, or just anyone who is moving who needs their car
driven. I am 57 years old who lives alone with my "fur" kids and need
to get home earlier than I had planned. I need to get home between
7/19 and 8/1. Oh, and the car should have air conditioning. Also, I
am open to anything else that will get us home. Thank you.

This web page lists a 2003 Venture that needs to be driven from Boston
to New Smyrna Florida:

Would that work for you?

no, that is probably about 6 to 8 hrs north of where I am going. Fort
Lauderdale, Miami, even the first few Keys would be fine.
