political office in America is a firm commitment to the ideal of

I stored this statement on my PC's hard drive in the wee hours of the
night sometime within the last month or two.  Unfortunately, I didn't
include the source, and I just can't remember whether this quote came
from a book, or periodical, or periodic email bearing motivational
quotes.  I'd like to use this quote but would also like to properly
attribute it, hence my question. I probably shaded the quotation
itself but was probably so sleepy that I didn't notice that the source
wasn't shaded also.  I wish I could be more helpful; I'll cross my
fingers and hope that somehow, somewhere, the quote can be unearthed
and its source determined.  Thanks so much for your efforts thus far.
