I suspect it might be Ian Richardson... he was in that TV drama House of Cards. |

Markj You may have struck oil! Because the question was 'Who has ...?' which suggests that, like Peter, he may no longer be with us. |

Why not think a litte bit further back in history? since to me it looks like a painting and not a photograph. It might well be Galileo or Charles Darwin |

To me, he looks pretty old and I suspect that he's dead. And are those 'mutton chop' whiskers on his cheeks? I'm sure that it's not Salman Rushdie because he's never entertained anybody. So I'm now going to go for Danny La Rue (although he may not be dead, is he?) |

Hi sam_sahand, Could it possibly be Sir Alec Guinness? Though I can't remember him appearing with muttonchops in his later years.... Good luck, smudgy. |

It's going to be someone pretty obscure ... it always is with this type of quiz. I'd like to suggest Buster Merryfield. After all, he did have some marvellous mutton chops. I don't know if he won any awards though. |

Just tried Buster too and its not him. If it helps at all, there was a message which I listened to. It was of a guy who sounded like he was in his fifties. The accent was of a fairly well spoken english person. It was too short to get anything else from it... |

The guy in the photo looks older than 'in his fifties' maybe it was a recording made some time ago. The folks you are dealing with can be very tricky. |

I'm not much of an expert on British entertainers, past or present. But... I find it odd that all the proposed solutions so far have been men. It may well be a woman, IMHO. (I'll settle for 10% of the prize if I'm proved right!) |

Here are a few more: Ian Bannen, Christopher Plummer, Spike Milligan, Marius Goring, Michael Gough, Stewart Granger, James Mason. Would you mind sending me £250 on account? |

Pretty sure it's Wilfred Hyde-White especially since it is so difficult to find a good photo of him online (which is probably why they used him for the mystery person). Hope I'm right and that you win the competition. |

Well, the questioner hasn't posted here since July 9 just a couple of hours before I made my "guess" of Wilfred Hyde-White. I wonder if that turned out to be the correct answer and he collected his prize and moved on... |

I have tried nearly all the suggestions made so far. I dont think I'm gonna try any more as its costing me about 40p per guess. At this rate I'm gonna end up spending nearly £1000. Thank you for your guesses. If anyone else would like to try it, the number is: 87070. write a text such as follows: GUESS PETER USTINOV you will get a text back in minutes to say if its right or not. |

Artiefufkin I've never seen Emmerdale or even heard of Ronald Magill but it's got to be worth 40p to find out. Do let us know whether or not you have called it correctly. |

I guess it's way too late for this but you never know. I think it is Mark McManus from the old Taggart tv cop series. Lee. |
