I'm preparing a 20 minute informative presentation on the concept of Quality as it relates to business, and am using examples in the automotive industry. Specifically I would like to be able to compare and contrast (in general) the success/failure of quality between the domestic, japanese, and european auto manufacturers. I believe what I'm looking for can be determined by using information such as quality ratings in auto/trade magazines (such as consumer reports?) which rank the manufacturers vehicles because in the end the success or failure of quality is told by the consumers. Statistics/charts- for example number of repairs on new car models might be a good baseline comparison- or number of recalls on new car models across the different manufacturers. $20 for information that will help me compare quality among domestic, japanese, and european auto manufacturers. *I will be using this information to go along with the topic of quality in business (please see my other question). *I need this information by the end of the business day if possible. Thanks, SteveM |

Hello, The information you are looking for is available from J.D. Power and Assoc. Reproducing it in entirety may violate copyright, so instead, you should go to (http://www.jdpower.com/cc/auto/releases/search.asp?CatID=1). Click for the press release to the 2004 Vehicle Dependability Study. It will show you that Toyota buyers reported the fewest problems with their cars after three years. Also check out the Initial Quality Survey to find out what buyers think of their 2004 model year cars. I hope this answer meets your needs. If not, please request clarification. Search strategy: J.D.
