I'd suggest that, according to the disclaimer below, it'll be hard to
determine an answer without knowing where you are (city/county/general
area, state, country?) and what's causing the tinnitus, besides not
being able to provide professional advice.
It's possible that even a walk-in clinic may assist you. Your costs
will vary depending on the level of diagnosis required and tests
(including x-rays, perhaps) performed. Even the local hospital can
give you general advice over the phone, depending on the severity of
the tinnitus' effects.
If you want to bypass the first round, you might get an appointment
with an Ear-Nose-Throat specialist in the area. Of course, specialists
may be more $$ than a general practitioner, but they do specialize in
the whole of that ear-thing, and can suggest drops or positions to lay
your head when sleeping or whatever they might prescribe, and of
course those drops add to your cost.
You might try www.webmd.com to get some more information on your own
to be sure. Take a look at the Google Ads under the tinnitus lookup.
