Question ID: 37083
I switched to a new computer and installed ACAD R14.01 with 3rd party
software
ARCHT R14.50b. I am using a digitizer KURTA xgt 12x12 with a Vtablet
driver in
cojunction with the provided Wintab driver in ACAD. The digitizer
works fine in ACAD but not in ARCHT. I followed advice like copiing
.mnu files,Buttons1a,Aux1
into Archt but it does not work. I feel like it has something to do
with "Archt
not getting the right information". I have the same programs running
on a different operating system (win 98 instead win 2000)with a
differnt tablet driver and it just works fine. When you compare all
the .mnu files they look the
same ! I am helpless, please help

Have you tried to update your drivers to Windows 2000? Win98 drivers
may not work well.

Dear kelkus,

A few thoughts...

1. I assume you have the latest version of vtablet...

http://www.vtablet.com/downloads.htm

2. The vtablet site mention this common error for autocad:
"Make sure AutoCAD is configured to use a Wintab-compatible pointing
device and not a specific digitizer-type model. As a rule, the "Accept
Input from Mouse and Digitizer" option should be enabled. In rare
cases, you may need to configure AutoCAD to use the “Current System
Pointing Device”, exit AutoCAD, then restart AutoCAD and configure
AutoCAD back to using a Wintab-compatible pointing device in order to
reset AutoCAD’s pointer registry values."

Does Archt have a similar setting... it may be set to Kurta instead of
Wintab-compatible.

3. You mentioned that on the 98 machine you have a different tablet
driver - does this mean different tablet? Is it possible to swap the
tablets (and drivers). Possibly the other tablet works better under
2000???

I would have liked to investigate the Archt side further, but the site
appears to be password protected.

If any of this helps, I'd happily repost it as an answer :-)

Regards,
