I am looking for a medication in the field of gynecology. It could be
a contracetptive. It sounds like... en-si-cron. The "i" has a long
sound. I just need the correct spelling.

Drugs have different trade-names in different nations. It would be
helpful to know in what country or countries this drug is likely to be
sold. Any additional info, such as where and approximately when you
heard of the drug, might provide a clue that could lead us to an
answer.

There is no answer at this time.

The closest I can come is a drug called Cycrin, which is prescribed
for uterine bleeding caused by a hormonal imbalance. If that's it,
let me know, and I will post the information as an answer.

There's an oral contraceptive called Ortho-Cyclen, but that's the
closest thing I could find.

I was going with Cycrin as well. It's used as an IM progestin-only
contraceptive. Orally it's used for abnormal uterine bleeding. Maybe
the en- sound is possibly an "m" for medroxyprogesterone acetate
although I've never heard it referred to M-Cyrin before.

The only drug that I can recall in the GYN field beginning with an En-
is "Enjuvia." It's relatively new to the market (5/11/04) but it's a
synthetic conjugated estrogen for moderate to severe vasomotor
symptoms associated with menopause and made by Barr Laboratories.

There's also an estrogen-progestin combination pill made by Orion
Pharma in Finland called "Indivina."

Then there's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vita" by Iron Butterfly which some might
say is an 'aural' contraceptive.

Anything else you can give us like a milligram perhaps?
