Intermittent and very annoying problem as described below:

Van is parked (engine off), driver's side auto-sliding door left open,
interior lights begin to flicker and sometimes turn off or sometimes
stay on and drain the battery. EX, EX-L owner's manual says vehicle
has a 3-minute auto-off feature for interior lights if any door left
open. Dealer service advisor insisted that this feature did not
exist.

After numerous trips to dealer only to be told, "Unable to duplicate
customer complaint at this time," finally got dealer to catch problem
in January '04. Claimed it was faulty ground on door switch and
fixed. Problem has now returned. And now with a new twist. Noticed
that interior lights were on the other night so I left the door open,
but put the interior light switch on the dashboard to the "Off"
position turning off all the interior lights. Next morning, battery
drained again! Just got back from dealer yesterday, "Unable to
duplicate customer complaint at this time." This from a shop that
insisted a feature described in my owner's manual did not exist.

May I suggest you picket. If you want to get the owner of the
dealership's attention and get your problem solved that is how I would
handle it.

I have done this myself. The way I handle this was on Friday and
Saturday I and my wife showed up with a letter explaining in a very
simple and KIND manner what the problem was and we had a really big
picket signs. We gave copies to everyone, new customers, people
driving by etc. The problem was solved rather quickly.

If I could suggest one more thing, do not get mad at anyone, do not
yell just explain the problem, repeatly and the owner of this
dealership will get it fixed. He has to, with you out front telling
customers his service sucks, he ain't goin' be selling no cars.

Just a idea.

I ran across others that are having your problem in a forum and this
is how one person solved it:

I didn't know anything like this existed.
