Could you be referring to THE STOKEMEN perhaps? The band was
originally mistakenly signed to Warner Global Media under the wrong
name when the Label boss admitted "I thought they said 'Ripstoke!'"

I am not looking for the Stokemen. In fact I had already stumbled
across that sight in particular and on the news and tour dates page is
has the Stokemen listed as playing WITH Ripstoke. I know Ripstoke
exists. I came across a cd of theirs several years ago and now cant
get them out of my head.

I.O.W. they really do exist, I have heard them, they have pressed a cd
(it wasnt a burnt hand-me-down, and they're not the Stokemen.

I think they fell off the face of the earth. Good Luck!
