Hi xenoflowbie-ga,

Simply put, no, Arabica coffee blends do not cause hallucinations,
unless you toss in some LSD! (I am drinking a cup of arabica blend
coffee right now) Consuming excess amounts of *any* caffeinated coffee
can give you the ?jitters? though!

Arabica coffee *is* found in grocery stores, but usually in the higher
priced, premium blends, as it is considered one of the better quality
coffees. Lower quality beans from the Coffea robusta plant are used in
most supermarket blends.

?Here are two main species of coffee grown for commercial use: Coffea
robusta and Coffea Arabica. Robusta has double the caffeine, but not
the taste you expect from a specialty coffee. Think back to the worst
cup of coffee you ever had while waiting in a government office, and
youŽre probably remembering an over-stewed pot of Robusta. For the
quality you have grown used to at corner coffee houses, youŽll want to
stick to Arabica beans only.?

?Arabica represents approximately 70 percent of the world's coffee
production.? Coffee Arabica *is* autogamous! (This means it can
fertilize itself!)

?Coffea arabica known as Arabica coffee accounts for 75-80% of the
world's production.?

?Arabica represents approximately 70 percent of the world?s coffee
production. Arabica coffees are described either as "Brazils" (because
they come from Brazil) or as "Other Milds" which come from elsewhere.
Typica and Bourbon are the two best known varieties of C. arabica, but
many strains have been developed, including Caturra (from Brazil and
Colombia), Mundo Novo (Brazil), Tico (Central America), San Ramon and
Jamaican Blue Mountain.?

?Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system. Recent research has
shown that caffeine in moderate doses enhances alertness, well-being,
energy, motivation and concentration.

Caffeine has been found to improve alertness, as well as prolong
beneficial mood effects in individuals deprived of sleep for 48 hours.

Although a few people may be particularly sensitive to any source of
stimulation, including caffeine, there is no conclusive evidence that
caffeine causes symptoms of anxiety in healthy individuals.?

The kids in this ficticious stoy, ?Fairy Tail? by Sasha Hammarberg ,
certainly believe Arabica coffee might make you hallucinate! ?As
Howard continued to examine his predicament, he peered into the cup he
was holding and saw his face reflected in the caramel-colored
concoction and suddenly, it all made sense. "That's why kids aren't
supposed to have coffee!" he whispered to his moving image, "It makes
us hallucinate!"?
