My aunt who is 92 and wheelchair bound needs a special transport to
and from dialysis three days a week. The cost is $800 a month. Can
someone advise me if this cost is able to be covered by Medicare? She
has a fixed income; her retirement from Boeing ALL goes for a
secondary insurance. I need to know if she can claim the
reimbursement and how to make the claim. Thank you.

Contact medicare directly and ask about transportation coverage (probably not).
Areas with transit services usually provide tranportation for disabled
people at only slightly higher costs that the public transportation
charge.
Contact your department of social services and department of aging and
see what programs she might quality for.
Ask the supervisors at the dialysis center - since they are in the
businees they might know. Dialysis is usually 2-3 times per week. At
3 times per week that's 12 times per month. Divided into $800 thats
$66 per roundtrip. That's a lot.

Contact her secondary insurance. The number should be on her card.
Ask them if they will reimburse for transport services and find out
what info from the provider that you need so you can send the claim.
Get the name of the person you are speaking and try to get a direct
contact person for any questions. If her secondary insurance doesn't
cover this, contact a local ambulance service and find out if they
offer annual memberships. Our area offers memberships that are
affordable and reduce the regular transport fees. Also, contact your
local assistance office. They will often reimburse for individuals
who meet financial criteria. At least they do in PA.
