Can somebody point to listings of the Top 20 or at least Top 10 of the
radio show "Schlager der Woche" of the West-Berlin radio station RIAS
Berlin. The show was hosted by Lord Knut. Particularly I am interested
in the years 1980-85. Thanks.

Hi hagen,

Nice to see you back with us!

I wasn't able to find the lists you're looking for, perhaps one of my
German colleagues on the other side of the Pond will have a bit more
luck. I did, however, find an audio clip from "Schlager der Woche"
from January, 1985. The clips from the Kinks and Wham really brought
back memories!

Schlager der Woche, mit Lord Knud 01/1985

There's also an entire community dedicated to remembering this
legendary Berlin radio station:

RIAS-Treffpunkt

Perhaps some of the members there can help you find what you're
looking for!

Schöne Grüße!

Here is a page with the Top 13 hits for 28. 6. 1982 (June 28th)
http://homepages.compuserve.de/Frag191/vierte.htm
The first list is the new songs of the week and the second list is the
Top 13.

Two additionaly things to note:

Schlager in German means "hit" (it can also mean "thug"), so "Schlager
der Woche" simply means "Hits of the Week" and such there are many
German programs or references to this phrase. From a quick search BR
(Bavarian Radio) and NDR (North German Radio) both appear to have Hits
of the Week.

I have also noted that Lord Knut is spelled Knud or Knuth in various
places. His name is actually Knud Kunze, according to
http://www.radiotreff.de/rias2/rias2_erleben_mitarbeiter-liste.htm
so I would assume it's actually spelled Knud.

Maybe someone can find more.

A quick correction to my previous comment. Schlager means "hit" or
"pop song" whereas "Schläger" (with umlaut) or "Schlaeger" (spelling
the umlaut out ä=ae) means "thug" or "slugger." Not that it actually
matters to the answer. . .
